The New Harlem Renaissance...Savoring Harlem.

I just finished watching the Food Network special, Savoring Harlem.  World renowned chef Marcus Samuelsson, a Harlem restaurant owner, showcased Harlem's culturally diverse, ethnic restaurants.

As a native New Yorker, with roots in Harlem, I was ecstatic to see that the true essence of Harlem has not been totally lost.  With so many of these hidden gems in Harlem, it is about time that they have been featured like mainstream restaurants in mid-town and lower Manhattan.  Harlem has a rich history and due to gentrification, some of that history has been lost literally and figuratively.

To show my support, I will make sure that I, as well as my family and friends will patronize those restaurant featured on the show and others that were not.  Below are links to of some of those restaurants featured on Savoring Harlem.  Bon Appetite!!
